The first time you walk into The Meadowlark you say to yourself, "I can't believe this place is here". The difference from Larimer street and the harder edged Larimer Lounge, right around the corner, is apparent as soon as you walk in the door. The Meadow lark has a warm cozy vibe with its underground exposed rock walls and red lighting.

As for the bar, they don't have anything on tap. Bottles and cans only. Their liquor menu does not list everything they have, so take a closer look if you don't see spirit of choice.

The bartender girls are always nice, cool art on the exposed brick walls, nice bathrooms. They have specials, no beers on tap which is kinda lame - bottles only. I like a lot of the specialty drinks, a little pricey. It used to be a lot cooler on Fri/Sat nights - now I think they have live hippie music.

I had a lot hope for this place and with DJ Klaw and compnay spinning here on Friday nights, it quickly became a favorite of mine. The actual space is great and a rare find in Denver. The people are a nice mix - It's not a dive bar but it's not a loud yuppie festival either. However, once Klaw bailed (I heard something about the sound always being jacked up), the place has been pretty dead and for the most part you have to bring your own party if you're going to hang at the Meadowlark. I dont go there much anymore.

Although a bit sketchy looking from the outside, the atmosphere inside is pretty darn cool.
