Brix tries desperately to be hip and mostly makes it. A block from the ballpark, this "anti-bistro" has a large, comfortable bar area with a restaurant tacked on almost as an afterthought. The bar staff are very friendly, remember your drinks, and have a heavy hand with the pours. The food's on the expensive side for what you're getting, and the quality of the menu items varies considerably. Many of the appetizers are excellent and are half priced during two long, nightly happy hours (5-8, 10-12). Avoid the attractively priced but dry and overcooked prime rib.
